1STKIT Quick Deflate Valves - Set of 4 with Anti-Theft Lock Nuts
About 17 seconds of air release per tire (40 to 20 PSI). Screw these valves onto your existing valve stems once (about 5-10 minutes for all four), then slide the collar up whenever you need to drop pressure fast. Lock nuts, core tool and spare cores included.
Description
Automatic deflators are great when you want a set-and-forget stop pressure. Quick Deflate Valves are for when you want speed. With the valve core out of the way, air rushes out through wide side ports - far faster than letting it out through a standard valve core. In our own test on a 32-inch off-road tire, taking it from 40 to 20 PSI took about 17 seconds of actual air release (roughly 1.2 PSI per second) - about 45 seconds to 1 minute per tire including prep time and all handling.
INSTALL ONCE, IN YOUR DRIVEWAY
No tire shop, no dismounting.
- Remove the valve cap.
- Use the included tool to take out the original valve core.
- Screw a Quick Deflate Valve onto the valve stem and snug it up with the spanner.
- Fit the lock nut, then inflate back to your normal road pressure.
All four tires take about 5-10 minutes.
Tip for a perfect seal: before installing, check that the top of each valve stem is flat and smooth. If it has burrs or nicks, smooth it with a fine nail file. If a valve ever leaks after installing, remove it, smooth the stem tip, wrap the stem threads 3-4 times with PTFE (Teflon) tape and reinstall.
AIR DOWN FAST
- Slide the collar up: the side ports open and air rushes out.
- Push the collar back down when you reach your trail pressure - the ports close and deflation stops.
To inflate, just use the knurled cap on top like a normal valve - there's a standard valve core inside.
To make it even easier, time your first deflation with your phone's stopwatch and write the time on the "Time to Deflate" decal. Next time, just open, count, close.
WHY YOU'LL LIKE THEM
- Fast: much quicker than deflating through a standard valve core.
- Stays on the vehicle: screw on once and leave them installed - nothing to carry, nothing to lose.
- Anti-theft: lock nuts keep the valves where they belong.
- Light: only about 10 g per valve, so wheel balance isn't affected.
- Complete kit: installation tool, spanner, lock nuts and spare cores are all in the box - nothing extra to buy.
GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY
- Not automatic: the valve doesn't stop by itself. You close it when you reach your pressure, so use a gauge or your "Time to Deflate" time - and check the final pressure with a gauge.
- One step of setup: the first install takes about 5-10 minutes, and the valve stem tips must be flat and smooth for a good seal (see the tip above).
- Taller valve: because it sits on top of your original valve stem, the valve ends up about 0.8 in (20 mm) taller. That makes it easier to hit an obstacle and damage it, especially on rocky trails - pick your lines and check the valves after rock crawling.
- If you'd rather set a pressure and walk away, our automatic tire deflators are the better choice.
